So get this, the Baofeng radio that I wrote about in my previous post has not shown up. When I call the shipping company, they have a wait time of three hours plus. And I do not have three hours to wait for customer service on the weekdays when they are open. But I ordered another Baofeng radio model on Amazon and it came right to my door in two days! And also since that time Canada Post has delivered my Swiss Micros DM15C-- a credit card sized version of the famous HP15C RPN calculator.

And so just just like the title says, the beat goes on, because I at least have a handheld radio (a pretty fine one for the low, low price) and my precious credit card sized DM15C which is henceforth my everyday carry.

...and the beat goes on and on and on.

Maybe the first shipping company had some sort of backlog, or it could have been due to the sudden bad weather that's gripped the nation. Three hours is a frustrating amount of time to listen to hold music, though. It's a long time to play hold music. (My orchestra conductor had my ensemble put on a hold piece one year where at the end everyone was supposed to say, "Sorry, wrong number!" My stand partner complained it was corny as all get-out but it also got us money so I told her I would be Daffy Duck anything for a buck for a semester and she could follow my example if she wanted or scoff and leave, whichever suited her fancy. She told me she'd be Daffy and I'd be Plucky, since she wanted to be I while I could be II and English Horn. So that is what happened.)
